HOW TO CREATE A WORDPRESS BLOG

Go to http://wordpress.com . Click “Get Started Here.”

Fill in the form. Make sure you write down your password on a separate piece of paper.

WordPress will send a confirmation notice to your email. Click “Confirm.”

It will then go to WordPress and say “Your Account Now Active!”

Go to the top left corner of the page. Type in the name of your blog and your password. Click “Login.”

Click the name of your blog where it says “Your blog at ————–.wordpress is active.”

Click “Admin Dashboard.”

 NOW YOU CREATE YOUR BLOG.

Choosing a Theme:

On the left side under “Dashboard,” there’s a list of words. Go to “Appearance” and click “Themes.” Look at all the themes and pick one. You can change your theme at any time by going back to “Appearance Themes” on the “Dashboard.”

You choose a theme by clicking “Activate.” You can change your theme at any time by going back to “Appearance Themes” on the “Dashboard.”

Making Your First Post:

Go to “Dashboard.” Go down the list and click “Posts.”

A new page will show with the worlds “Hello World.” Put your cursor on the words and then click “Edit.”

Change “Hello World” to whatever title you want. In the box below, write your post.

You can add photos or videos if you choose.

Making Your First Page:

Go to “Dashboard.” Go down the list and click “Page.”

A new page will show with the worlds “About.” Put your cursor on the word and then click “Edit.”

Change “About” to whatever title you want. In the box below, write your post.

You can add photos and videos if you choose.

Adding a Photo to either a Post or a Page:

Go to google images or any image you have on your computer.

On the Post page or Page page, there is a little camera just above the box, with the words “upload/insert” beside it.

Click on the camera.

A little page titled “Add Media” will pop up.

Click “Select Files.” Click the .jpeg of the photo. Click “Choose.” Select the size and placement of the photo by putting the dot in the appropriate circle.

Click “Insert into Post.”

To Add a Video to either a Post or a Page:

Go to youtube or vimeo or wherever you get a video.

Highlight the address of the video and copy it.

On the Post page or Page page, there is a little camera just above the box, with the words “upload/insert” beside it.

Click on the camera.

A little page titled “Add Media” will pop up.

Click “From URL.”

Click “Audio, Video, or Other File.”

Put the Cursor at URL and Paste the youtube/vimeo address.

Click “Insert into Post.”

(You know you have done this right when the youtube/vimeo address shows on the page inside square brackets.)

Go to your Post or Page and click the Camera icon at “upload/insert.”

Click update.

Publishing Your Post or Page:

After you have finished your Post or Page, click “Update.”

Any time you add anything new to your post or page, you must click “Update.”

Viewing Your Post or Page:

To see your new page or post, go to your blog address at the top left of the page, just over the word “Dashboard.”
